KidSport

KidSport^TM is a national organization that brings sport and needy kids together - So ALL Kids Can Play!  It is designed to assist children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs.

KidSport NWT is administered by the Sport North Federaton and is governed by a volunteer committee that is responsible for the overall policy and operations of the program in the territory.

All funds are used to help NWT children (age 18 and under) reach their potential. KidSport clears the way for kids to get involved by providing support for registration fees, community programs, and by making sure they've got the equipment they need. The amound of funding available is based on fundraising initiatives and will vary from year to year.                   

Money is raised through contributions by the corporate sector, as well as through special activities and events, in order to help pay for programs and offset registration fees so that all children can play.

KidSport is an affiliate of the Yellowknife and NWT Canadian Tire JumpStart Chapters.  Canadian Tire JumpStart is a program of the Canadian Tire Foundation For Families that helps support families in need register to participate in organized recreation activities.  For more information, click on the JumpStart logo.
