National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.

With events held across the country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle.

This session will provide advice and support to some of the essential elements of Safe Sport coaching. These elements include: Boundaries: How to set and maintain strong professional boundaries with your athletes and families including social platforms and communication. Assertive coaching vs abusive coaching: How to get the most out of your athlete without crossing the line. Coaching Gen Z and Gen A: How to get be the most effective coach with consideration for the generation of athletes you are coaching and how they react and respond

Transitioning From Athlete to Coach

This session will discuss how athletes can transition from competing in sport, to becoming a coach. Sometimes, after athletes stop competing, they’re not sure what to do next or how to stay involved in their sport. Coaching is a fantastic way to give back to the sport you love and a great way to get involved in the sport community.  This session is targeting high-school age athletes.
