This course covers traditional and contemporary youth leadership philosophies and practices. It also emphasizes an awareness and understanding of aboriginal youth issues. As well, an understanding of how adolescents develop and emerge as leaders in their families, schools, organizations and communities will be addressed. Through this understanding, students will learn how to implement age and situation appropriate youth programs and services. Students will also identify and enhance their own leadership/role modeling behaviours through practical application of leadership principles and concepts.
