Yellowknife, NT (August 2, 2016) – The Sport North Federation is pleased to announce that the call for nominations for induction into the NWT Sport Hall of Fame is now open.
The Sport North Federation encourages all members to look to their members, athletes, coaches, leaders and others for those who could qualify as recipients of this prestigious award in one of three categories: athlete, builder, or team.
All nominations must be received by the NWT Sport Hall of Fame Selection Committee by September 15th, 2016.
Inductees will be invited to attend the NWT Sport Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on November 18th, 2016 in Yellowknife, NT.
Criteria for nominations
The NWT Sport Hall of Fame Selection Committee will be seeking nominees who meet a number of criteria, including:
Athlete
Any athlete who has attained a high level of excellence and brought recognition or honour to Northwest Territories sport.
Team
Any team that has attained a high level of excellence and brought recognition or honour to Northwest Territories.
Builder
Has made a distinguished contribution to the development of sport in the Northwest Territories.
