Yellowknife, NT (October 15, 2013) - The NWT Sport Community was deeply saddened by the passing of Chris Bergman, October 8, 2013. Chris was a huge advocate and supporter of NWT Sport whether as a coach, volunteer or regular spectator, most notably at the various hockey arenas in the NWT. He also served as the Executive Director for the Sport North Federation from 1996-1998 and played a key role in its development and success. To list all his sport accomplishments and accolades would overshadow how he liked to be portrayed; a humble, gracious and unassuming individual.   Chris will be deeply missed by the NWT Sport Community and to those that knew him. He was a man who promoted sport and gave of his time generously to the children that he coached and always with the utmost pride and joy.  Farewell Chris, a true friend and advocate to sport in the NWT!
