Yellowknife, NT (November 26, 2013) – The second annual NWT Sport Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony inducted twenty (20) athletes and one (1) builder in a ceremony held at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre on Friday, November 22.

This year’s inductees include the first born and raised athlete to be drafted by the National Hockey League, the man who founded the Territorial Experimental Ski Training (T.E.S.T.) program that led to NWT cross country skiers participating on the Canadian National and Canadian Olympic Cross Country Ski Team, and the team that defied the odds and won the very first Canadian Junior Men’s Softball Championships bringing home NWT’s first National title.

We are pleased to welcome our newest class of sport legends and recognize their commitment to sport:

“The second annual Sport North Hall of Fame awards evening was fantastic.  It was great to have so many northerners back to be recognized and to have some of the first inductees in attendance as well.  The accomplishments of the inductees and their stories of their rise to success were inspiring.  The Federation is proud to highlight and recognize these individuals and team” stated Sport North President, Maureen Miller.

Congratulations to all of the inductees. May your achievements in sport live on.
