Team Manager 101 will offer a comprehensive overview of the team manager's role in both multi-sport and single-sport contexts. This session will explore the responsibilities and expectations of a team manager, whether leading a large or small team, before and during a competition or Games. It will cover the dynamics between team managers and other roles that work closely with them, such as coaches, mission staff, and parents/guardians.

The session will be valuable for current and future team managers, as well as other key team members. Topics will include the interconnectedness of these roles, effective communication strategies, and best practices for collaboration, informed by both past and current experiences.

ABOUT KIRSTEN: Kirsten Bobbie is the Director of Sport & Competition at Special Olympics Canada and is also the Chef de Mission for Team Ontario at the 2025 Canada Summer Games. Throughout her 13-year tenure at the Special Olympics Ontario and now the Special Olympics Canada offices, Kirsten has been a mission staff member at 5 Provincial, 3 National and 1 World Games, a Team Manager at 2 Special Olympics World Games, and the lead staff member organizing 6 Provincial and 1 International multi-sport Games.
