NWTSA - North American Aboriginal Indigenous Games 2014 - Call for Coaches

 Yellowknife, NT (July 23, 2013) – The NWT Soccer Association and the Aboriginal Sports Circle of the NWT are teaming up to identify Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for the 2014 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) being held in Regina in 2014. Details for the NAIG program can be viewed under the 'High Performance' tab of NWTSA’s website on the NAIG page.

All qualified coaches interested in this opportunity must apply using the online application process. Coaches must have either their Active Start or their Community Coach Child certification and be willing to obtain a criminal record check and complete a three hour online 'Respect In Sport' course. Applicants for Head Coach positions are encouraged to suggest candidates for their respective Assistant Coach.

 Prospective coaches must be available during the Player Selection weekend, tentatively scheduled for late August 2013, and should indicate which team(s) (U16 Male, U16 Female, U18 Male, U18 Female) they are interested in coaching. Where two candidates are deemed equivalent in their qualifications, preference will be given to candidates the same gender as the team and individuals of Aboriginal descent. The deadline to apply is July 25th, 2013.
